Harrogate International Nursery Trade Fair
Harrogate International Nursery Fair is the only UK based Trade Fair and attracts distributors and retailers from around the world, keen to meet British product designers exhibiting their latest merchandise. Harrogate Nursery Fair is a celebration of quality nursery product manufacturers and a highlight of the week is the BANTA Awards night. “Receiving a BANTA is a fantastic accolade and is recognised by retailers and buyers as an endorsement of a ‘must have’ line to stock.” Hosted each year alongside the coveted Baby and Nursery Trade Awards are The Baby Products Association (BPA) Concept and Innovation Awards.
Being shortlisted for any BPA award is a prestigious milestone to achieve within the Nursery Trade. The Concept Award acknowledges products in their visionary phase, so may just have a drawing or diagram, whilst the Innovation Award is for ideas which have moved further forward and developed to potential production stage. At Harrogate in 2015, the Omnio Stroller prototype, then known as “Little Rider”, was the winner of the Innovation Award.
Gadget Show Live
The British Inventors’ Project Award, a “celebration of invention”, was hosted by popular TV show, Gadget Show Live. In 2014, Professor Joan Taylor won the British Inventors’ Project with the invention of an artificial pancreas, and in 2015 it was the turn of the Omnio Stroller. Designed to showcase the best of British invention and innovation, the Project sets aside part of the Gadget Show Live each year for the inventors to demonstrate their products.

Kind und Jugend is the largest European Nursery Trade Show for Kids’ First Years.In 2015 it involved over a thousand exhibitors from 50 countries, and 21,000 trade visitors from 110 countries. From 15th to 18th September 2016, the Omnio Stroller was exhibited as part of the UK Pavilion – the Baby Products Association’s extensive section showcasing quality British products to international buyers. Omnio Stroller could also be viewed at the Innovation Award Area - t he Innovation Award is to Kind + Jugend what a medal is to the Olympics.
Omnio Stroller was announced as the WINNER of the Innovation Award for the “World of Moving Baby” category. These prestigious awards are entered annually by hundreds of innovators from around the world, and the products are evaluated on their innovative nature, safety, design and quality.
This year’s winners were announced in the Innovation Award Area on 15th September and the Directors were delighted to be there in person to collect the award.
Welsh Business Awards 2014
The Welsh Business Awards recognise the very best from businesses across Wales, as we all play our part in driving the Welsh economy forward. These awards celebrate success, excellence in best practice and the contribution Welsh businesses make to the wider community. Innovation Makers, the company behind Omnio Stroller, was awarded Welsh Business Start-Up of the Year for 2014, recognising Markus’ hard work in developing the business plan that would enable the company to bring their first product to market in 2016. Innovation Makers was also declared to be the Runner-Up for Welsh Company of the Year, second only to Welshpool firm Invertek Drives Ltd.
